Bouygues Energies & Services acquires Plan Group

Bouygues Energies & Services recently announced that it has acquired a majority shareholding in Canadian technical services provider, Plan Group.

Plan Group is based in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver, focusing in the areas of mechanical and electrical contracting, maintenance and technical services, building automation systems and network infrastructure.

The company has approximately 1,700 employees and posted a turnover of $361 million in 2013.

The acquisition is part of Buoygues Construction’s larger international strategy to continue development in the Canadian construction industry.

“Canada currently offers high-yield short-term and long-term economic opportunities,” said Bouygues Energies & Services chairman Jean-Philippe Trin. “Beyond Facilities Management and Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, we would like to take advantage of the excellent positioning of Plan Group in order to deploy our expertise in terms of HVAC, network infrastructures (HV lines, substations, street lighting, broadband), solar and biomass power plants.”

The deal is still subject to the approval of the local competition bureau.
